I am using it for 3 years now. I have tested several php coding enviroments before - but PHP-Designer is my first choice. It works out of the box, is very powerful and absolutly worth every cent.

The PHP-OOP-Support is really great. It helps to prevent type errors and the usage of wrong scopes of variables/methods within classes. Jumping from one class/method to another with one mouse click is really helpful in more complex developments.

First of all, it brings a friendly interface for beginners and advanced users where it has an outstanding menu bar that gives you a lot of unique options such as an internal SVN and also an internal connection with FileZilla, an FTP, making your job much easier because you can have a lot of tools in just one place.

 

Therefore, I’ve tested several free and commercial editors until I’ve found phpDesigner and what is best is the intelligent syntax highlighting because you can work in different languages without losing the track of the syntax that you are working with. The phpDesigner allows you to switches between PHP, HTML, CCS, XML and Java in the same code.

Now, I’m a graduate student at Northeastern University and I work developing a blog for American students who want to study abroad, in England, Greece or Australia. My role is to create a good virtual environment that keeps them in touch with their family and also allows them to report their experience while living abroad. The web blog is based on the WordPress platform and I use phpDesigner to upgrade and create PHP widgets.

I would have paid the $69 for the pro edition even if it was optional. It’s just a great editor. I use it for PHP, Python, Perl, even Ruby. On PHP I write only in it. It is loaded not instantly, but it is justified by functionality in the form of the directory of functions, illumination of a code, automatic closing of blocks "begin/end" for example. The product comes nearer to full-function IDE. :)

I used the free edition of phpDesigner for a long time. I found it a very nice PHP editor, with a lot of useful functions. Still something was missing, but I managed to do those tasks with other software.

A nice day I was surfing through the MPSOFTWARE home page and the Professional Edition's Feature Page took my attention. I saw listed EVERY SINGLE of those functions I used from external software, plus tons of extremely useful features!

2 minutes later I was a P-R-O-U-D registered user of phpDesigner. This is THE PHP Editor. Full stop.

I just thought I would say that I think you are doing a good job with this program. I remember when I first used PHP Designer - it was OK, and had a nice interface, but I found myself using PSPad or Eclipse instead for my PHP needs (mostly because the search back then wasn't as developed).

Now, though, phpDesigner has gotten to the level where it is what I use for my PHP projects. The Professional Edition has been a big improvement. And I like how each point release (e.g. 5.3->5.4) contains new features and improvements - useful ones! And ones that people have asked for.

So I just wanted to give that feedback, as I know software developers often tend to hear more about the bugs and problems in their software than the good parts :-)
